On this episode of Destroy: Never, we’re talking about the biggest lil man in the game. Lil Penny was the larger-than-life alter-ego puppet of 4x NBA All-Star Penny Hardaway. If you’re wondering how he came to be, we got you. Penny Hardaway was a playmaking machine whose game was louder than anyone else’s on the court, but IRL he was actually very soft spoken and humble. Nike saw an opportunity to create an alter-ego (with the key word being “ego”) that personified the loudest parts of his game. Enter Lil Penny.
