Cher Responds to Boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards' Fight with Travis Scott at Cannes Party

Alexander "AE" Edwards wants everyone to know that Cher supports him completely.

The 38-year-old music executive recently spoke to TMZ about his relationship with the 78-year-old music legend, following his physical altercation with Travis Scott at a party during the Cannes Film Festival on May 23.

When asked if Cher was upset with him, Edwards emphatically replied, “Hell nah,” quoting lyrics from Future and Metro Boomin's "GTA" to emphasize their strong bond: “Like Future say, ‘Whatever I’m with, my woman with it, too.’”

Despite questions about potential "wedding bells," Edwards confirmed that his relationship with Cher is still thriving. “Aye bro, listen, we’re happy. We’re a happy family,” he told TMZ.

Cher and Edwards, who have been romantically linked since late 2022, were last seen together at the 2024 amfAR Gala in Cannes on the same day as Edwards’ altercation with Scott. The couple, dressed in matching all-black outfits, enjoyed a glamorous date night and were not shy about showing PDA on the red carpet.

Just a few days earlier, on May 20, they celebrated Cher’s 78th birthday. Cher told E! News that they "went to a fabulous place" to mark the occasion, describing their time at the romantic Chateau Romanov residence as “amazing” and praising Edwards as a wonderful host.

Since their relationship became public, Cher has openly expressed her fondness for Edwards, despite concerns about their 40-year age gap. In an October 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Cher described Edwards as “a beautiful man” with “diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he’s way younger.”

Cher shared that they initially connected over text after a brief meeting at a 2022 Paris Fashion Week event. She was surprised when a mutual friend gave Edwards her number, as she had always told friends not to date significantly younger men or fall in love through texting. “I did what I said not to do!” she admitted.

Despite breaking her own rules, Cher has no regrets. She finds Edwards “just so special” and values their time together. “No matter what happens, I love being with him,” she said. “He makes me laugh, and we have fun. What I learned is that it’s never too late. If you looked at the statistics, you’d think this was doomed. But we’ve been together a year, and even if it was just a year, it would’ve been worth it. I’ve had the best time.”
