"Escape Room" (Extreme Demon) by SleyGD | Geometry Dash 2.11

SleyGD has been releasing levels pretty consistently for some years now, but it's been a little while since his last one. That's probably because he's been working on this for a while, at least judging by the previews released on his channel. "Escape Room" is probably the cleanest I've seen his visuals be, and I've uploaded numerous SleyGD levels over the years. The block designs, backgrounds, and other decorations are organized very well, and each features just enough detail for me. I'm not a big fan of extremely detailed design levels personally, but I like detail and this hits just the right spot for me. I'm particularly talking about the part at 0:31, which features some neat custom-made blocks.

Unfortunately, making custom designs and backgrounds can lead to a lot of objects if you're not careful, and that happened here. The optimization in the original version of the level wasn't the best, which I became aware of on Twitter. He's made it a lot better now, though, going from 229K to 154K objects. I'm sure he'll keep optimization in mind even more when creating in the future, which is good. That's something every creator should think about more. As for specific feedback, I'd personally like to see SleyGD mix a bit more colors at once in future projects. This is pretty much just one vibrant color (with grayscale accents) at every moment, and mixing a few vibrant colors together can give a level a much more unique look.

As for the difficulty, well, this is way too hard for me to play myself. Special thanks to SleyGD for reaching out to me about showcasing this; I'm always down to showcase very good levels that are a bit too hard for me. This is very hard, though, at least judging from the verifier's thoughts (MiniShoey). It will probably end up around Top 50 on the Demonlist. He also found it quite fun to verify, but I know that gameplay enjoyability is very subjective at this difficulty, so we'll see what other players think. All in all, I think this deserves an Epic Extreme Demon rating after the optimizations SleyGD did!
