In this video, Dr. Speaker Blower shows the basic task of processing synthesizer bass sound with VST effects in the DAW: combining two basslines, compression with side-chain, send effects and insert effects.
Effects used in this process: filter (Dr. SB BiFilta), distortion (Logic Phase distortion), stereo imaging (Dr. SB Bass Bus) and multi-band compression (Waves C4).
I also show how to combine drum loops and how to create rhythmic effects using a noise gate on the bass (with side-chain to the drums).
