In this video, we will discuss an example using an synchronous motor. The motor is star-connected. We will use the synchronous motor circuit model for our calculations.

For this synchronous motor, we have given the three-phase apparent power, line voltage, electrical frequency, and the circuit model parameters. Using these information, we will calculate the generated back EMF for three power factor cases (power factor = 1, power factor = 0.9 lagging, and power factor is 0.9 leading). We will also make a phasor diagram of the situation, and compare and summarize the results
