Sister chromatids and Homologous Chromosomes
During interphase of the cell cycle, the DNA is replicated. As a result, two sister chromatids are created. The sister chromatids are identical strands of DNA. During mitosis, the sister chromatids are separated and during meiosis homologous chromosomes pair up.

Sister chromatids are the same size
Have the same genes
Genes are at the same location or  loci on the chromosome
Have the same alleles and are held together by a centromere

Homologous chromosomes
Same size
Carry same genes in same loci but can have different alleles because one half is from the female and one half is from the same male ( maternal and paternal).
Homologous Chromosomes are not held together by a centromere
