Binary Eutectics are mixtures of immiscible solids.  A common example is Ice and Salt.  below 0°C both are solid, yet combining them will result in melting.  In magmas, we often see the same feature, when only a single mineral forms from magmas that contains melts of more varieties.    Eutectic substances are common in alloys as well as organic chemistry.
