Here is a neat three-part tune called, "Reel Beatrice!" The reel version of this tune is a French-Canadian / Quebec tune often attributed to fiddler Joseph Bouchard (1905-1979).  The tune he used as inspiration is an Italian polka called, "Oggi Nevica" ("Today it Snows"). The Italian title is really suiting for today because it's actually snowing right now where I live in Colorado!

The reel has three parts -- the first two parts are minor, and the last part is in the relative major key. I usually hear this tune played in either A minor or G minor, so I decided to play it in both keys, lol. I think I prefer how it sounds in A minor, but I think it's a little easier to play in G minor because you don't have to shift to 2nd position. Both keys create different tricky parts to play.

I also played it swung at a mild tempo in the beginning. I think it sounds neat played like that -- it's kind of like a hornpipe, but also kind of jazzy and odd. I like odd sounding tunes! Some people play this reel super fast, which is nice, but I tried to play it at a moderate tempo. There's a lot going on with this tune, and I think it can sound good at pretty much any tempo. :D

Here is a link with a few sheet music versions! https://thesession.org/tunes/483

I sort of created my own version of the tune, but the first version listed at TheSession is pretty similar. :)

It's HALLOWEEN!!! Happy Halloween!!  =D I thought this tune could sort of fit as a good tune to play on Halloween. =) Halloween sure came really fast. It feels like it was summer yesterday... :o If you live in Colorado and are going to go out trick-or-treating, I hope you stay warm! It's going to be cold and icy! :S

Thank you for watching, and Happy Halloween!!! =)
