Samsung DeX is a powerful productivity feature that lets you create a PC-like computing experience on your Galaxy Tab S7 or S7+. On your Galaxy Tab S7 or S7+, there are two ways to use Samsung DeX. You can use DeX on your tablet in standalone mode by connecting the optional Book Cover keyboard, or you can connect your Tab S7 to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse for a traditional DeX experience.
Here's how to use DeX in standalone mode:
- First, connect the optional Book Cover keyboard.
- Once connected, hold down the function key and hit the DeX button.
- DeX will now launch and you can use the keyboard and touchpad, accessing apps in multiple windows much like you would on a laptop.
Using Samsung DeX on an external display gives you more space for multitasking. With either a USB-C to HDMI cable or a wireless Miracast-enabled display, you can take your work to the big screen. Here's how to get started:
- First, connect your tablet to the monitor using your HDMI cable.
- For wireless DeX, pull down the Quick Panel on your tablet. Select DeX and choose the display you want to connect to.
- DeX will now launch on your monitor.
Follow these steps to pair your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for even more productivity:
- Put your keyboard in pairing mode by following the instructions from the manufacturer.
- Then on your tablet, navigate to Settings. Select Bluetooth and choose your keyboard from the list of available devices.
- Repeat this process to add your mouse.
