Contractor sprayed Deco 20 concrete
Contractor sprayed Deco 20 concrete clear sealer on exterior foundation with no drainage system around perimeter of foundation. Deco 20 Concrete clear is a dampproof product below grade not a waterproof product. Our Deco Seal membrane product is a waterproof product below grade. If a drainage system was installed our Deco 20 concrete clear is the correct product for this application. Applications that require hydrostatic water pressure require a membrane waterproof product or our gray Deco Seal.
We advised contractor to re-excavate, install drain system & connect to sub-pump, apply our Deco Seal because of the clay soil being non-porous. Owner & contractor were delighted we visited on the same day of their inquiry and determined the real problem was no drainage system. Deco 20 Concrete Clear Sealer is an ICC dampproof product below grade and waterproof product above grade...it can be applied on entire foundation walls both exterior or interior. It replaces tar as a dampproof sealer and tar can only be applied below grade.
