The three lives of Marie Curie

The life of Marie Curie was a continuous interweave between passion for science, people and action.

As we celebrate the centenary of her Nobel Prize for Chemistry in International Year of Chemistry, Dr Serge Plattard, the Counsellor for Science and Technology at the French Embassy, will examine:

how her understanding of nuclear radioactivity opened a completely new field in physics
how, by introducing mobile X-ray units in World War 1, she helped save tens of thousands of lives and
through the development of radiotherapy methods and instruments, how she led the way in the fight against cancer.
