VCNO Franchetti Takes Charge of the Navy

The following is the Aug. 14, 2023,  relinquishment of office ceremony for Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Navy Adm. Lisa Franchetti, the vice chief of naval operations, will become the acting CNO. Her nomination to succeed Gilday is on hold in the Senate.
