The Steelseries Acrtis Pro Wireless
The Steelseries Acrtis Pro Wireless has been the best headset for the last 2.5 years. It continues to be the best headset for multi-device setups. If you have a PS4 and a PC you must check out this headset. It allows you to use one headset with both devices, including voice chat. If you have an Xbox One, you should also check out this headset. If you are looking at a PS5, you must consider this headset given it's amazing feature set. Lastly, if you are building a new Ryzen 5000 Intel 10 Series Nvidia 3080 or AMD 6900XT Ultimate Gaming System, you need a headset as equally as good to brag to your friends in Discord.
Sony really didn't do us much favors not including a TOSLINK (optical) port. But given the bandwidth restrictions of the HDMI on the PS5, no VRR, and lack of 4k/120, you can probably get by with a splitter. Eventually full HDMI 2.1 splitters might come out or Sony might update the PS5 to include full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and/or TOSlINK.
Notes:
1: PS5 does not have an optical out connection. To get around this, you will need an HDMI to HDMI + Optical/SPIF Out adapter. These normally run between $30-$50 and do require external power. Unknown if the Dualsense will support chat, but I would imagine it works the same way. Also, according to Steelseries, you can use the USB Audio input on the DAC with the PS5. This means you'll have to connect to the PC via Optical. I'm looking into how to do this part and preserve the dual-audio stream from the PC.
2: To get voice chat on a PS4, you will need to connect a cable to your dualshock 4 and the headset.
