"The promise of tomorrow is the only light I have."
Please read me!
So you probably noticed, but this one's a bit different. I had to make a character for a Zelda RP campaign I was in, and I was sort of stuck. So my friend recommended I just take the things I'm inspired by and turn them into a person. I was really into 'Lemon' at the time, and so I made a character based on the sort of feeling that song evokes in me. Rather uncreatively, I named that character 'Yuzu'. I now love Yuzu with all my heart and will protect that precious bean until I die.
You can probably expect what happened next. I decided to write a version of Lemon, inspired by the character who was inspired by Lemon. So yeah, this was more of a labor of love than it was an attempt at an "accurate" translation. Just something I wanted to do for fun, because it inspired me. And, honestly? Super rewarding. You've really just gotta' hold onto ANYTHING that gives you dopamine, especially these days.
But um. Yeah. Please don't yell at me in the comments. Actually, you know what? I'm giving you all 100% permission to laugh at anyone who whines about this not being the Japanese version. Absolutely shame them. People who don't read the description have no rights. People who don't read the description are NOT protected under the Constitution. I'm not sure who she might be, or why I'm dreaming about that...
But I wipe my eyes from both the sides when sunrise hits my face
as I dry and put away another tearful pillowcase...
Tell me, what are you doing now? Where you are, can you see the clouds?
If you're out there at all, just speak! Say something to me!
If you feel like no one really knows you, if you feel a loneliness like I do,
if you wanna' disappear and see if anybody notices...
If you're feeling all the pain that I am, won't you please leave me behind?
I can bear it on my own, like I've been doing all my life!
And I'd do it all for you, for us, because you are my light!
Even just the very thought of somebody's care is not
insignificant to those like me— those who don't know what love means...
Just imagining you by my side: so pure, it feels like a lie...
