Stanley is a nice small
Stanley is a nice small town in the Northern part of Gaston County. Named after an prospector named Stanley who was panning for gold within this area in the mid 1700s.
Stanley a town less than 4,000 residents is close to the mountains and has good food for a nice dinner. But you don't need to head to the mountains - you can go enjoy dinner at the Wood Shed - then enjoy the open rolling hills around the town.
Ted Abernathy was a major league pitcher from 1955 to 1972 and was from this nice small town.
Flew the town in mid summer - would love to re fly during a less hazy time of year!
