As the world trends towards what some experts refer to as a more multipolar geopolitical landscape, India is emerging as a dominant power and a potential leader in the Global South. From the U.S. perspective, the India-U.S. relationship is particularly meaningful in light of China’s growing influence. At the same time, India’s democracy has come under fire as the Hindu-Muslim conflict surges under Prime Minister Modi and the BJP administration. To share an inside perspective, several speakers from India will discuss the nation’s role on the world stage amidst shifting global power dynamics, the state of India’s democracy, and the security challenges it faces both at home and abroad.
