Get a glimpse of these mysterious creatures in the majesty of their natural habitat with these unmissable Australian Whale Watching experiences.

If it’s Humpback Whales you’re hoping to spy, you’re in luck! Humpbacks are Australia’s most commonly seen whale, renowned for spectacular breaching. You can find them in Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia, Hervey Bay, Queensland or strolling along the Coogee to Bondi walk in Sydney. The curious Dwarf Minke Whales visit the Great Barrier Reef in June and July each year, and it’s the only place in the world you can interact with them. If you’re lucky, you might hear them sing underwater. Southern Right Whales often come close enough to spray you with breakwater at Lady Bay, where the new mums are closely guarding their new calves. During the migration, you can spot these noble water giants at Great Oyster Bay, Tasmania, Flinders Bay, Western Australia or during a drive down Great Ocean Road, Victoria. Blue Whales – Earth’s largest creatures – are ironically the hardest to find! Seen in the Geographe Bay in Western Australia in September for a limited window, try your luck at spying these shy water giants.
