This Crisis Interview depicts Steven. Steven is a 42 year old man who works as a salesman for roofing products.
Steven went out for a drink after work on Saturday evening and drank 10 standard drinks. His mother was woken when she heard him arrive home at 11pm, but went back to sleep again. Around midnight she was awoken by a banging noise in the garage.
Steven's father went to investigate the noise and found Steven had put a rope up over a beam and had fallen off of a chair that was tipped over next to him. He was clearly intoxicated, slurring his words, tearful and was repeatedly saying "What's the point? It's all stuffed!" There are several empty cans of beer from the garage fridge strewn over the ground, the fridge door is open.
An ambulance attends the scene and when they suggest Steven goes to hospital, he became resistive. Police were called to help with the situation. He is taken to hospital where he is detained under the Mental Health Act. The following interview is conducted the next morning.
