IISSMD20: New Security Partnerships in the Middle East

The final session of the IISS Manama Dialogue saw a lively debate between Lieutenant General (res.) Gabi Ashkenazi, Foreign Minister of Israel, HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, Chairman of the Board at the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, and former Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the US and UK, and Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bahrain. They shared their views on the likely impact of the Abraham Accords on the security dynamics of the region and on the prospects for future security cooperation. ‘It will take time for the implications and opportunities to become apparent, but the Accords are here to stay’, said Zayani.
