There is NO proper prong collar fit/placement!
Egads, what kind of Pandora’s box have we opened here? Actually, it’s a super important one, and not just for prong fit, but for training in general. But back to the headline—what if everything you’ve been told about “proper prong collar fit/placement” was wrong? Or at the very least incomplete and myopic? Could there be other fits that are “proper”? Could there be solid/helpful/valuable reasons to deviate from that which has been decreed as the “one fit” and risk angering the dog training gods?
Absolutely. The problem is, too many trainers and owners are locked into dogmatic rules that have been passed down by the dog training elder council, and then accepted without any individual, critical analysis as to whether this advice is actually the best for you and your dog.
