After taking a year off because of the pandemic, this year, Shot Show is back, and many cool firearms have been unveiled for next year. Many top-tier brands are releasing firearms that shooters have been asking for since last year, and though all of them are fun and impressive, some of the new handguns introduced at Shot Show for 2023 really stand apart.
So, here is a list of seven of the best new handguns unveiled at this year's Shot Show.
4. Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0 10mm:
The S&W M&P M2.0 shield pistols have been out for quite a while, however, at this year's shot show, Smith and Wesson also introduced a 10mm model to their lineup.
Though Smith and Wesson already had a 9mm and .45 ACP option in their M&P M2.0 lineup, the 10mm is a really great addition as it gives people a very strong option for personal defense and concealed carry. 10mm has higher velocity and more energy than a .44 ACP and offers better ballistics as well.
3. Bond Arms Roughneck Derringer:
If you want a unique handgun that can be used as a pocket pistol as well, you need to get a Derringer from Bond Arms. For quite some while, Bond Arms has been an industry leader in the Derringer field, and as this year's shot show, they released a new and more affordable version of their popular backup Derringer pistol.
Dubbed the Roughneck, this pistol is designed with a focus on function rather than aesthetics. It is available with an aluminum and stainless steel body and has two stacked steel barrels, which are chambered in .380 ACP. Despite the very short barrels, which are only 2.5 inches in size, the recoil on this handgun is quite controllable.
The Bond Arms Roughneck is a very capable backup pistol and is a fun handgun to own.
2. Mossberg MC2sc
Mossberg has recently been stepping into the Pistol market, and a few years back, they released their first pistol in about 100 years. This pistol was the MC series, and this year, it gets a new member in the form of the MC2sc sub-compact pistol with a 3.4-inch barrel.
An excellent addition in the world of micro 9 concealed carry pistols, this pistol comes with several improvements on the MC2 system, and features an optic-ready steel slide, with an optics cut that is compatible with various optics options on the market. It also has an integrated accessory rail for mounting a light or laser under the barrel. The MC2sc features new Dovetail low profile sights, which are better for holstering, while still making it very easy for the shooter to get a quick sight picture when shooting. You can also choose optional TRUGLO Tritium Sights for this pistol.
As far as capacity is concerned, the Mossberg MC2sc sub-compact pistol has an 11+1 magazine capacity with the flush fitting magazine and an impressive 14 +1 capacity with an extended mag that comes with it. The trigger on the Mossberg MC2sc is crisp and easy to pull. It has a flat-faced profile, which results in a consistent trigger pull every time you shoot.
The controls and ergonomics of the pistol are very similar to the original MC2 series pistols, however, it also features an interchangeable magazine release, which makes it more useful for left-handed shooters.

If you are looking for a super high-end pistol, you should check out the lineup of Cabot Guns. They are a boutique 1911 manufacturer known for making some of the most incredible handguns on the market, that are incomparable to anything else in both function and appearance. However, they do go for quite a hefty price as well.
This year, Cabot Guns is releasing the new Cabot Guns Apocalypse 1911, which is an excellent self-defense pistol that is made to look absolutely amazing. This custom-made 1911-style pistol has a Damascus finish on the steel, which means that every Apocalypse pistol is unique. The controls and design of this pistol follow the standard 1911 pattern, however, the Apocalypse does come with an optics-ready slide and a multiple slot Picatinny rail section under the barrel for mounting lights or lasers.
The Apocalypse 1911, like most guns made by Cabot Guns, is extremely accurate. They have an accuracy guarantee of sub-1.5-inch groups at 25 yards. This pistol is custom-made for the shooter in multiple configurations according to their preferences. They are available in both 9mm and .45 ACP chamberings, and you can choose between the full size or Commander size frame.
