The battle of Cape St.
The battle of Cape St. Vincent was fought on the 14th of February, 1797, between the navies of Great Britain and Spain. Although the battle itself was not that significant, it pushed forward the career of Horatio Nelson, who went on to become one of the greatest admirals of all time.
This is part one of a four-part series on the legendary admiral. The other planned battles are: The Battle of the Nile, The Battle of Copenhagen(1801) and The Battle of Trafalgar.
