Star Dust, performed on a silver 1925 Conn 8M Chu Berry C-Melody saxophone. A beautiful old song, and a beautiful old horn.
Update: Thanks for all the kind comments and questions. This mouthpiece was made by Bill Street of Gorham, Maine ([email protected], 207-839-2231). He makes his own C-mel mouthpiece for Conns and a different one for Bueschers that are each matched up right and actually make the horn play in tune - not to mention the great sound. It's by far the best piece I've tried with this horn. I can't remember the cost, but it was reasonable and well worth however much it was. It's made to work with standard tenor reeds, and I'm using a Rico 3.5 here.
