I've never been a huge fan on the Gibson Sonex as a guitar, but its history is quite fascinating. They made the Sonex 180 Deluxe much more abundantly (and longer) so that's what you normally see on the used market. However, there was also a Custom and Standard model which featured MUCH better pickups known as Dirty Fingers which were coil tapped with a mini toggle switch. It is hard to find these in all original configurations as nowadays a set of these pickups are worth more than the guitar due to other models that are more valuable also using them (and other people wishing to restore these guitars.) Just like The Paul and The SG using TTOPS pickups and getting parted out.
