This is MASGAMES company, manufacturers of playgrounds, swings, playhouses and outdoor furniture.
The wood we use for our games and furniture comes from renewable forests in northern Europe. The wood is treated in a level IV autoclave. This treatment allows the wood to be outdoors in contact with the sun, rain and even snow. Autoclave IV treatment protects the wood against rot and insect pests. Wood treated with a level III autoclave can only be outdoors under cover, but not exposed to the elements as ours can be.
Autoclave treatment may cause green stains and occasionally the wood may be damp. These effects dissipate once the playground or picnic table is properly installed outdoors.
Wood can develop cracks, since it is a living material that expands and contracts depending on temperature and humidity conditions. Cracks can be long and deep, especially on round swing poles. The presence of cracks is normal and does not represent any safety, durability or resistance problem.
Over time, exterior wood takes on a darker color, but this can be counteracted with proper maintenance. We recommend the use of LASUR, which can be applied every 2 or 3 years and can be found in any hardware store or DIY center.
