Wine is compatibility layer for
Wine is compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Unix Operating system like Linux. Follow these steps to install the Wine in your Linux and install Windows applications.

►Terminal commands
1. If your system is 64 bit, enable 32-bit architecture
$ sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2. Add Repository
$ wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Rel...
$ sudo apt-key add Release.key
$ sudo apt-add-repository https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubu... Linux Mint
On Linux Mint 17.x, change the last line to the following
$ sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubu... trusty main'
On Linux Mint 18.x, change the last line to the following
$ sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubu... xenial main'
3. Update Repository
$ sudo apt-get update
4. Install wine stable package
$ sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable
5. Check version of wine
$ wine --version
