Our clients live in a beautiful 1980's townhouse and whilst they love living there they reached the stage where the noise from neighbours while they were sleeping was unbearable. The decision to either move house or soundproof needed to be made. Luckily for us, they decided to soundproof.

After an initial consultation discussing the various home soundproofing options available, our clients decided to proceed and it was full steam ahead with the job within a couple of weeks.

A full strip out of the existing floor, ceilings and stud walls was undertaken, stripping the bedroom back to its bare bones. From here we went about the process of decoupling and adding mass to all 4 walls, the ceiling and the floor.

The impact noise of the next door neighbours coming up the stairs in the middle of the night was constantly waking them up so we had to ensure that the system we installed was up to the job.

All surfaces were decoupled, floating the walls, ceiling and floor. To name a few, we used Phonestar boards, Tecsound resilient layer, Rockwool, Isomax clips and lots of soundboard, blood, sweat and tears (don't worry, we sheeted out)! All plug sockets and light switches were soundproofed ensuring no gaps or weak areas in the system. A full plaster finish and all skirting boards, cupboards etc put back in place.

The finished job was of studio specification and our clients can no longer hear the rumble of the staircase right next to their heads anymore. In fact, they were so happy with the job they agreed to do this video testimonial for us.
