Chinese Qingming Festival - Festival of Pure Brightness (Chinese Traditional Holidays 2014)

What is Qingming Festival? Chinese people believe that family ancestors are just like us, in that we all have needs. During Pure Brightness Festival, also called 清明 or 清明(节) [ qīng míng jié ], Chinese people visit the graves of the dead, pay respect, sweep the tombs and give offerings to family ancestors. This year, the festival falls on April 5th, 2014. Watch this video to learn more about the traditional holiday and customs.
