HMS Surprise: Then and Now (the ship from "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World")

A video I made in 2020, with the exception of the "at sea" portions which I filmed in 2010.
In 2001-2003, the HMS Rose replica was converted into the HMS Surprise, to be used in the movie, "Master and Commander: Far Side of the World," starring Russell Crowe. After the movie production, the ship was sold to Maritime Museum of San Diego. In this video you will see the ship then sailing the open sea off the coast of San Diego, November 2010 .
Finally, in 2020, (when this video was made) Surprise was in need of renovations, to get it back into good shape. Here you'll meet some of the dedicated crew explaining the process of renovating the ship, which as of now is complete - the ship is back on display in San Diego.
