This is the entertaining process of how to make Ggultarae (꿀타래), known as "Dragon Beard Candy."
THIS VIDEO WAS FILMED IN SEOUL, KOREA.
The Korean guys are speaking Japanese and English in this video because of the Japanese and American tourists standing in front of them. Many of these guys are multilingual in order to speak to all the tourists from around the world that visit the Insadong neighborhood.
There are several places where you can watch this traditional, royal snack being made in Seoul.  This was filmed in Insadong, but now you can find the snack in neighborhoods like Hongdae, Myeongdong, etc.
Ggultarae is fermented, 2 week old honey and malt, stretched by hand over and over in corn starch to create 16,000 strands of hair-like strings.  Then it is rolled up with various fillings of your choice, such as peanuts or chocolate.
This snack was once only eaten by the Korean royal court but has since become an available snack for anyone.  Originally, this snack was introduced to Korean royalty from China.
It's a very delicious snack and isn't super sweet, which is totally awesome.  And it's only 6,000 Won!!! Very cheap and delicious!
I suggest you buy some of these as gifts if you are ever in Seoul.

Thank you for watching!
