The storage tank bottom outside
The storage tank bottom outside adopts the Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP). The anode is designed to be buried in the sand cushion at the bottom of the tank. The anti-corrosive protection of the bottom plate is realized by using a potentiostat to provide a stable cathodic protection current. The whole set of ICCP system includes: impressed current anode, intelligent potentiostat, reference electrode, explosion-proof junction box, intelligent test post, cable and other auxiliary materials.
At present, the most commonly used impressed current anode is Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO-Ti) flexible anode.
The flexible anode is laid in the sand cushion at the bottom of the tank in a ring shape. The sand cushion thickness should be ensured at least 50 mm. The flexible anodes are laid in concentric ring shape. With a recommended spacing of 3 ~ 5m, both ends of each anode ring are separately led to the anode junction box outside the storage tank. Each flexible anodes and cable leads are prefabricated in the factory, and there is no need for field joint operation, thereby ensuring more reliable cathodic protection quality of flexible anodes and higher construction efficiency.
