Using pioneering photographic techniques to obtain unique animal behavior footage, it tells the story of the wolf, the predator that inhabits the human imagination like no other creature. It is one of many examples of the ways in which a top predator keeps the breeding stock of its prey strong by culling the weak and the sick. Such predators can prevent overpopulation of prey species and the benefits are seen throughout their shared ecosystem.
