Sometimes the old adage of
Sometimes the old adage of less is more still rings true in motorcycling; Yamaha’s 2020 MT-03 is a shining example. It’s the smallest and newest addition to the MT line and shares much with its small-bore supersport cousin, the YZF-R3, including the chassis and engine, albeit with a more relaxed and upright riding position without a fairing.
This bike has been through our service department and passed an 89 pt. reconditioning & inspection process. Some of the points include a oil & filter change, flush and bleed of all brake/clutch fluids, inspection of all wear items, an electrical & charging system test, safety & lighting check, adjustment of controls, torque check of major fasteners, a diagnostic check with a scanner, and of course a test ride to check for proper operation of the bike. Our techs also mounted and balanced a new set of tires.
The 2020 MT-03, essentially a YZF-R3 given the streetfighter treatment — no fairings, a flat handlebar and slightly revised front suspension — is an unapologetic gateway drug to the larger MT-07, MT-09 and beyond.
