Why do mother cats abandon their kittens?
Reasons for Mother Cats Rejecting Kittens. A mother may reject some or all of her litter. Ideally, kittens should stay with their mother until they are around 8 to 10 weeks old. Unfortunately, the mom might reject one or more of her babies, especially if either she or they are ill.
