A common demonstration of the Bernoulli principle, often used to explain the lift on a wing, is based on a misapplication of the Bernoulli principle. The phrase "high velocity means low pressure" is taken out of context an applied where the required conditions for application of the Bernoulli principle do not exist. What is actually going on here is an example of the Coanda effect. It demonstrates the pressure gradient that is present when an entrained flow stream curves. That principle does help us understand the lift on a wing, under different circumstances, when properly applied.
