Avoid This Scam at India's Holiest Lake! 🇮🇳
Yo guys, one of the more common scams in Pushkar, like in many other tourist destinations, is the "flower scam." This scam typically involves Indian people approaching tourists, often near the holy Pushkar Lake or the Brahma Temple, and offering them flowers as a token of goodwill or as a religious offering. They may even perform a brief blessing ceremony or tie a sacred thread (Rakhi) on the tourists' wrists. Afterward, they will ask for a significant amount of money as a donation or payment for the flowers and blessings... Enjoy!
Pushkar, a city in the state of Rajasthan, India, is famous for its sacred Pushkar Lake, which holds a significant place in Hindu mythology. The lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats where pilgrims come to take a ritual dip, believing it will cleanse them of their sins and bring them closer to salvation. The picturesque setting and spiritual significance make it a popular pilgri mage destination. However, Pushkar has also been a hotspot for scams targeting tourists. One of the prevalent scams involves fraudulent priests pressuring visitors to make large donations for ceremonies and blessings.
