11:43 Biggest Mistake - Final Thoughts

I recently explored the stunning Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and let me tell you, it's a must-see. But here are some common mistakes people make, and how you can avoid them.

Firstly, remember that Sagrada Familia is still under construction. Don't be surprised by cranes and scaffolding; it started in 1882, and they're aiming to finish around 2026. Plan accordingly.

Booking online is crucial. Forget about walk-up tickets; those days are gone. I made the mistake of assuming I could get one on the spot – big error. So, book your tickets online well in advance.

Download the app before your visit. It's got audio tours, and trust me, you'll want it. I regret not bringing my AirPods for a better audio experience.

When you first arrive, don't rush inside. Take a moment to appreciate the Nativity facade; the details are incredible, and it's where architect Anthony Gaudí personally worked.

The interior is breathtaking. The columns resemble a forest reaching to the sky. Check out the stained glass windows, soak in the atmosphere, and don't rush through.

The controversial part – the tower tour. It's an extra cost, and honestly, it didn't blow me away. You get a glimpse of the city, but it's not a 360-degree view. Passion Tower is slightly better, but manage your expectations.

Exiting the building, don't miss the museum. It's worth spending some time there, with cool exhibits and 3D models showing the cathedral's design evolution.

Visit the bookstore; you might find high-quality items. It's a hidden gem. And don't expect Sagrada Familia to light up like the Eiffel Tower at night; it's not quite as spectacular.

Explore the neighborhood; there are great shops and restaurants. I recommend a pedestrian walkway north of Sagrada Familia for a lovely dinner view.

Lastly, the biggest mistake is not visiting Sagrada Familia when in Barcelona. Don't be like those guys who bailed for the bar scene. It's truly one of the most beautiful buildings on the planet. Plan at least half a day for this spectacular experience.
