Personal enjoyment-
Recently I am reminded again and again that our first love for the Lord needs to be recovered and maintained. Although sometimes I feel that my love for the Lord has grown cold and my heart is far from Him, through this hymn I have been reminded that we can still pray for the Lord to "gain my heart" and "keep my heart open to You"!
This is a prayer of co-operation - it is only by the Lord's drawing and wooing us that we can open our hearts and love Him with our first and best love.
Not only that, the more we spend time with Him and tell Him, "Lord I am so in love with You.
For You are so lovely, my everything, my all in all", the more this becomes a reality to us!
