With allegations mounting that during the stock market boom of early 2010 many sponsor/directors of listed companies in Bangladesh disposed/divested a substantial part of their respective holdings at high prices, in a bizarre move the Chairman of the Bangladesh Publicly Listed Companies Association (BPLCA) took the limelight at a press conference of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to declare that now the owners of the listed companies would buy back their own company shares which are at rock bottom levels after 2011 market crash to 'support' dwindling market prices, assuring that it would not be illegal; which in turn would rather result in their reaping another windfall !!!
