This item appears to have been staged after the event. It probably depicts Russian soldiers on the front hearing news of the revolution.
Various shots of Russian Army soldiers (Cossacks) marching around in the snow carrying banners, they are / have been on the front fighting World War One. 4 soldiers march past. Row of soldiers holding rifles vertically, they all lower them at once, while one man sheaths his sword, part of rifle drill. Pan on army marching band. More shots rifle drill. Officer standing in front of troops and leads them in a cheer, another man (possibly an Orthodox priest?) watches. Officer and other man inspect the troops.
Pan on the soldiers, no longer in straight rows, a group of them marches forward. Shot of a disorderly bunch of soldiers walking towards camera, carrying unidentified flags & waving hats. Soldiers waving placards and signs - they seem very excitable. Another shot of a larger group of soldiers coming towards camera waving banners. MS Cossack soldier holding banner which blows in the wind (English translation of the banner's message: "Long Live Free Russia!"). More shots of soldiers running around, cheering and waving.
