It sounds straight out of
It sounds straight out of Hollywood: After midnight on September 4, 1972, three masked men threw a rope into a skylight on the roof of the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. They shimmied down undetected and incapacitated the three museum guards in order to steal millions of dollars of jewels, paintings and figurines. Almost 50 years later, the heist remains unsolved. The stolen art is still missing. Bad police work, failed negotiations with the thieves and time has made finding answers – and artwork – nearly impossible.
This is the story of Canada’s Skylight Caper.
