Have you ever asked yourself if tattooing fake skins really works?
In this video I go over and show you all why I feel fake skins in fact do help us and guide us in a better direction.
I can say with confidence that had I not spend all the time I have under the needle on fake skin I would not be here typing this out. I am NOT saying that fake skin is a great alternative to real human skin because as most of us know there is nothing like human skin but human skin.
What I am saying is that fake skins allow us to learn the fundamentals and basics. I was able to get comfortable with my gear because I was able to tattoo on fake skin. I was able to get better with techniques and hand motions because I was able to tattoo on fake skin. I am able to practice HOURS a day on end, everyday, anytime I want because I am tattooing on fake skin.
What I noticed as well is that everything I learned on fake skin translated well over to human skin. So when I did tattoo human skin for the first time I was well acquainted with the techniques, motions, and approach I should be taking overall. I was able to grow into that experience because of fake skins.
Me personally I don't ever see myself not using fake skin because it is an all around great way to stay sharp, to learn, to grow, and to practice new techniques and approaches. I highly recommend any and every tattoo artist having some fake skins in their arsenal.
