Maronite incense prayer for the rest of souls:

The Official Translation by the Maronite Church in America  chanted with the same rhythm:

With these clouds of fragrant smoke
And the scent of sweet perfume
O Lord, grant remembrance to
The faithful who died.
All those who with fervent faith
Fed upon your holy flesh
And drank of your sacred blood
Then died in your hope.

Faithfully the just have died
Resurrection is the hope
Awaiting the Lord to come
To give them their due.
Nothing any eye has seen,
Nothing human ear has heard.
Nor what any mind has thought
The worthy receive.

Let us hear the son who speaks
At the time the dead will hear
The life-giving voice of God
And rice incorrupt
For those who accomplished good.
Resurrection and new life;
But those who accomplished ill
Will stand to be judged

Isaac buried Abraham
While he grieved and mourned for him,
Since life after death was hid,
Unknown to mankind.
But to Moses God appeared,
Speaking with him to reveal
The just and the righteous are
Alive with their God.

A new vessel has been seen
Laden with a great reward
Traversing a stormy sea
Enriched  by tis store.
Mary is the vessel's name
Christ within her the reward
Who travels throughout the world
To give mortals life.


1- الجوق الأوّل :
نفحات العطر العذب       عن أرواح موتانا
ترجو منك يا ربّ             عنهم رضواناً
بالخبز الحيّ اقتاتوا         واجتازوا دنيا الشَقا
2- الجوق الثاني
ما أشهى موت الأبرار      أسرارٌ ما أغناها
آمالٌ ما أغلاها              غفوٌ في الأنوار
ما لم تبصرهُ عينٌ           ما لم تسمعهُ أذنٌ
ما لم يدركه ذهنٌ            يعطى للأبرارْ
3- الجوق الأوّل :
إن جاء الحيّ الربّ         نادى بالموتى هبّوا
من جوف الأرض قاموا         للحُكم قاموا
مَن في البرّ قد لاحا      غنّى الشكر و ارتاحا
في غمرِ الأنوار الحيّ           نوراً فيه حيّ
4- الجوق الثاني
إسحاقُ لفّ أبرامْ        مبكيّاً ، بالأكفانِ
و البعثُ سرٌ ظلامْ       ملءُ الأذهانِ
موسى قد هزّتهُ النارْ      و الله منها ناداهْ
الصدّيقون الأبرارْ         يحيَونَ لله
5- الجوق الأوّل :
فُلكٌ بانتْ في البُعدِ    يُغنيها كنز الوَعدِ
يحدوها موج اليمّ           و الكنز ينمي
أنتِ الفُلكُ يا مريمْ     يسوعُ الكنز الأعظمْ
مِنهُ أشبعتِ المعمورْ            حياةً و نورْ
6- الجوق الثاني
يا أبرارُ في القضاءْ         الحكّامَ أدهشتمْ
ذللتمْ رُكنَ الظُلماءْ           و الشرّ دستمْ
غادرتمْ كورَ التعذيبْ      كالإبريزِ في النّقاءْ
غنّتْ ذكراكم تطويبْ         أرضٌ و سماءْ
7- الجوقين  الأوّل والثاني
نُحيي ذكرَ الأنبيا        و الرّسْلِ و الصدّيقينْ
و الأبطالِ الشُهَدا       فَخْرِ الظّافرين
أذكرْ يا ربُ البيعَه     والعذراءَ الوديعَه
و الموتى بالقدّيسينْ     إجمعهم . آمينْ
