Carbohydrate Chemistry is explained ( D,L isomers, Optical isomers, Anomers & Reducing sugars)
D,L isomers : The absolute configuration at asymmetric carbon with reference to glyceraldehyde.
Optical isomerism : The plane of polarised light is rotated to right (dextro), or to left (levo).
Epimers : Isomers that differ only at one asymmetric carbon are called epimers.
Anomers : Isomers that differ at anomeric carbon.
Reducing sugars : Sugar with free aldehyde or ketone can reduce reagents.
Mutarotation : Change in optical rotation of Anomers
