This is a review of the HTC Vive Pro 2 - an upgraded version of the HTC Vive Pro that boasts a new display with "best-in-class" visuals and some seriously impressive specs. I've been testing out the HTC Vive Pro 2 in order to compare it with the competition and see how it stacks up.

Specs of the HTC Vive Pro 2 include:
Fast switch LCD IPS panel, 2448 x 2448 pixels per eye (4896 x 2448 total)
120Hz refresh rate, 'true' 120-degree field of view
Dual-stack lens setup with RGB Subpixel design
57 to 70.5mm IPD adjustment
G-sensor, gyroscope, proximity, IPD sensor, SteamVR Tracking V2.0
Eye relief with lens distance adjustment
Adjustable Hi-Res certified headphones
Integrated dual microphones
The Vive Pro 2 is available to buy in two different formats. You can either buy the headset itself as an upgrade option if you already own the original Vive, Vive Pro or Cosmos Elite or you can buy the entire package that includes the base stations, controllers and the headset.

Highlights of the Vive Pro 2 include:
- Comfort - this is one of the most comfortable VR headsets I've tried. Nicely balanced with superb padding
- Visuals - the Vive Pro 2 has the best display with a wide field of view and fantastic graphics if you have a machine powerful enough to run it
- Sound - the hi-res certified headphones offer great sound and block out surrounding noise with ease. They're also loud and offer great positional audio
- Passthrough - the software now allows you to use passthrough via the cameras, so you can see the room around you with ease without taking the headset off.
Lowlights:
- Straight line lenses - these are frustrating because you can see the lenses more easily which ruins the experience a bit in my mind
- Nose guard - the rubber protection here sometimes blocks the lenses so you can't see as well.
The minimum required specs to run the Vive Pro 2 headset are:
Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350 (equivalent or better) / Memory: 8GB RAM (or more)
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX1060 or AMD Radeon RX480 (equivalent or better)
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
Video out: DisplayPort 1.2 (or newer)
USB ports: 1x USB 3.0 (or newer)
The recommended specifications for the Vive Pro 2's full 5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate are:
Processor: Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350 (equivalent or better) / Memory: 8GB RAM (or more)
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 (equivalent or better)
Video out: DisplayPort 1.4 (or newer)
USB ports: 1x USB 3.0 (or newer)
OS: Microsoft Windows 10
