How to fix nonresponsive Chevy remote key fob

I have had two key fobs become nonresponsive over a 6 year period. The battery was not dead and some buttons worked as expected. The main buttons that became unresponsive were the two most used, Lock and Unlock. This tutorial shows what I did to fix the buttons to be more responsive.
