PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL The activating interplay of thrombosis and inflammation (#thromboinflammation) is a major underlying pathway in cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, and most recently, COVID-19. Thrombosis is basically a way of defense against microbes. Managing inflammation has priority over antithromosis in Behcet disease thrombosis. As a summary: Inflammation activates endothelial lining exposing proteins (von Willebrand & collagen which will attract platelets & tissue factor to activate factor VII & then activate coagulation)platelets will form a thrombus when exposed to fibrin. Thrombosis will then activate the innate immune system (#immunothrombosis)& #Netosis which will in return activate thrombosis. By linking the immunologic function of neutrophils with the procoagulant & proinflammatory activities of monocytes & platelets, PAD4 activity carries important implications for understanding the processes that fuel thromboinflammation. As a conclusion, neither thrombosis nor inflammation occurs in isolation.
