AFM and DFM are technologies developed by GM to improve fuel efficiency by deactivating select cylinders during low-load driving conditions. This reduces fuel consumption by allowing the engine to operate more efficiently when full power is not required. However, are they as good as GM makes them sound? Jake covers the differences between AFM & DFM, the problems these systems can cause, and what route is best to delete or disable Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM).
