main function: strengthening the external and internal abdominal obliques, core stability
There are three layers of abdominal muscles, the obliques are the 2nd layer and control rotation and side bending movements. They take an active part in the stability and mobility of the pelvic region and lower back therefore they are an important component in rehabilitation of lower and upper limb injuries and low back and pelvis disorders (in accordance with the instructions and treatment plan prescribed by the physiotherapist or GP and their approval)
