Siping $3,000 Tires with a Utility Knife???

Today we are going to sipe my 37x11.5R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers mounted on XD Machete Rims. I am nervous to try DIY Siping, especially with a utility knife but I have to do something as these tire are flat out dangerous on ice. The 12 Valve Cummins needs some serious winter traction improvements, this thing is sketchy.

This 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 is the first vehicle that I’ve had mud tires on and let me tell ya, it’s been an eye opening experience. I have definitely taken for granted how well some all season light truck tires perform on icy roads.
